testing measures the output performance of the
solar PV module. The flash test machine or sun simulator is used to perform the
test. In the flash test, the PV module is kept exposed to a short and bright
light flash. the flash of light is usually 1ms to 30 ms in light of 100 mW per
sq. cm. Usually, a xenon filled arc lamp is used in the procedure.
The output

is captured in the form of data and fed in a computer. The results of the test
are compared to the PV module specifications that are written on the label of
the module.
The test
measures the module parameters. It is also called as the standard test
conditions or STC. Temperature plays an important role in the performance of
the PV module. When the temperature of a module is increased, the voltage
output of the cell reduces, and the current output of the cell increases. This
diminishes the maximum power output in Watt of the module.
The flash test
is shared via the result sheet. It lists all the tested modules and their
results. A reference PV module is often used in the flash test. It is a module
of which the accurate power is determined by a certification body or a renowned
testing lab.
Before the solar
panels are sold in the market to the consumers, it must undergo a testing
